GRANVILLE – Four hundred-six Granville voters went to the polls April 12 for the annual town elections.
Most of the elections on the ballot were uncontested, except for the contest for Selectboard Representative between incumbent Nicole M. Bernt and challenger Robert A. Beckwith.
Bernt won the seat on the Selectboard with 210 votes to Beckwith’s 193 votes, a difference of 17 votes. Three voters left this part of the ballot blank.
Town Moderator Richard N. Pierce received 347 votes in his uncontested race for reelection for a term of one year. One person voted for a write-in candidate.
Donna M. Fillion was reelected as town clerk for a term of three years with 358 votes in her uncontested race.
Christopher C. Bouwer received 352 votes with just one person submitting a write-in vote for the position of assessor for a term of three years.
April LaBreque ran uncontested for library trustee and received 347 votes for another three year term.
Scott J. Bergeron was reelected for a one year term as constable with 328 votes. Two people submitted write-in votes for constable.
Five people ran for five open seats on the Recreation Committee. Robert A. Beckwith, who also ran for Selectboard but lost, received 331 votes. Linda M. Blakesley received 323 votes, William B. Blakesley received 318 votes, James. E Daley received 319 votes and Theodora J. Daley received 314 votes. Thirteen write-in votes were also received.
The Town of Granville has 1,165 registered voters. Thirty-four percent of registered voters voted in the town election.
