HILLTOWNS – Although the classroom sites are currently closed, the Southern Hilltowns Adult Education Center is still offering free classes for hilltown residents through zoom and other platforms, including GED preparation, according to SHAEC Director Michele Kenney.
Kenney said two classes on estate planning basics with Chester lawyer Emily Smith Lee had a lot of people participating, and another is scheduled in May. “We had the most interest in that,” she said.
GED/ HiSet (High School Equivalency Test) preparation is available individually through zoom. Interested parties should email Southernhilltownsaec@gmail.com.

•Using Google Hangouts: Free, and with unlimited time! with SHAEC teacher Heather Morgan. May 18, 6 to 8 p.m. Google Hangouts is a free service from Google that allows you to talk to family and friends on your computer or mobile device for live video chats, or to make phone calls or texts. Unlike a free Zoom account, you can “Hang out” on Google hang out as long as you want, there is no time limit until Sept. 30. Google Hangouts is available as an app for iOS and Android, as well as a plug-in for various web browsers.
