Elite of Ludlow closes its doors three months after grand opening

Date: 2/8/2023

LUDLOW – On Nov. 5, 2022, Elite of Ludlow (EL) Nutrition hosted its grand opening at 194 East St. but on Jan. 21 had to close its doors.

Owner Crystal Jimenez said, “Unfortunately, the [Ludlow] business was not making enough money to keep up. We were there for three months and didn’t see a change in business and it started declining rather than going up. We decided to pull away before it got worse, plus we have a very busy place in East Longmeadow.”

Jimenez has been the owner of the Elite Nutrition in East Longmeadow for three years and was looking to open another store for a while and bring this product closer to communities that she already helped.

Ludlow's EL Nutrition offered shakes that were appealing to the eyes but healthy and teas that people could enjoy for energy instead of coffee or an energy drink.

Jimenez said she enjoyed her time in Ludlow and will continue staying in touch all the connections she made.

“I want to thank everyone that has walked through our doors and has supported us and helped get our business going and name out there. I will be forever grateful for you all and the relationships I have built,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez built connections with the Ludlow sports teams to help them get ready for big games along with other community members who came in to visit.

EL Nutrition also honored Ludlow High School boys’ soccer coach Greg Kolodziey after he suffered a major heart attack in December 2022.

Jimenez took pictures with all the customers who bought a Lion’s tea drink and used it to make a large collage for him.

Elite Nutrition in East Longmeadow is located at 130 Shaker Rd. and will continue to serve customers.
