LUDLOW — The Hubbard Memorial Library hosted Tom Ricardi on July 25 to show his birds to the community that gathered. Ricardi is a retired Fish and Wildlife game warden and licensed wildlife rehabilitator who has spent over 30 years nurturing thousands of injured birds back to health at his Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center in Conway. Those birds that are too injured to be released back into the wild he continues to take care of including the great horned owl that he has had for 27 years, he said. He tends to owls, eagles and hawks. He talked about each bird’s natural history and dangers they face every day.
