LUDLOW – The second annual Ludlow Community Market is taking place Sept. 24 and 25 from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. at the gazebo at Memorial Park, located at 11 East St.
Hosted by the Ludlow Cultural Council, this year’s market will feature 60-plus local artisan vendors and community and civic organizations. Some of the vendors and organizations include All Things Shelly, the American Legion, Bubbly Brookes Creations, Ludlow Cares Coalition, the American Red Cross, Craft Creations By O&M, Cork Elegance Plus, AMB Designs, the Ludlow Basketball Boosters and Friends of the Ludlow Public Library. There will be free music, children’s entertainment, arts, and crafts, as well as food trucks like Jeannie’s Weenies, Uncle Joe’s Mobile Cannoli, Canta Gallo, Batch Ice Cream and Cousins Maine Lobster.
Ludlow Cultural Council Chairperson Michelle Goncalves said, “Last year’s market had a wonderful showing. The community enjoyed it, and we knew we needed to bring it back for a second year. We are doing this to bring the town together and to celebrate the community organizations, the nonprofits and civic organizations, and the local businesses that make Ludlow a great place to live and work. Of course, given our mission as a cultural council, we strive to celebrate art and culture in all that we do, as well.”
The Ludlow Cultural Council supports arts and culture in the community; awarding grant funds to artists, educators, musicians, and other performers or organizations for events and activities that benefit the town of Ludlow. They also support a range of activities for all ages such as children’s activities, summer concert series, activities in schools, and programs for senior citizens.
“We want to provide some fun activities for the town and to support our local businesses, nonprofits/civic organizations and the vendors that are creating all of these arts and crafts for the fair as well,” Goncalves mentioned.
