Pink WAY Foundation to host 14th annual gala event Nov. 5

Date: 10/17/2023

LUDLOW — The Pink WAY — Women Around You — Foundation will be hosting its 14th annual breast cancer benefit and dinner gala on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 4-10 p.m. at Ludlow Country Club, 1 Tony Lema Dr.

Pink WAY founder Robyn Hersey said, “We are looking forward to having a really great crowd and memorable night.”

All the money raised goes to Pink WAY which helps raise money to help women going through breast cancer treatment pay their bills for things like groceries or gas.

“People should come to it because we are raising money to help women financially through breast cancer. Everybody’s attendance there is one step closer to getting somebody some help either with a wig or help with a medical bill or something on that nature,” Hersey added.

In years past this event was a benefit dinner but Hersey said she wanted to make the event a little more upscale.

She added, “We have changed it from regular benefit to a gala which is a little more formal and something we have never done before.”

The theme for the gala is fancy hat, which Hersey said she hopes people get creative with. The event will also include raffles, entertainment, dancing and a cash bar.

Hersey said, “The fancy hat idea is more sort of like the Kentucky derby so we are really hoping people have a lot of fun with that and will come wearing hats. Maybe necessarily not many men but women for sure. Men an either wear top hats or baseball caps with a pink ribbon on it.”

In years past the theme was “pretty in pink” but Hersey added how the meaning of the theme has to do with fighting breast cancer.

She said, “A lot of the time when you are going through breast cancer, as I know myself, you don’t feel so pretty so we try to make things with the pink and anything that has to deal with the benefit or the Pink WAY to kind of gear around making women feel beautiful or pretty.”

Hersey said she enjoys this event because of how much fun people have.

“This year because it is just so much formal, I feel like we graduated in a sense. In years past it has been very casual and we have done really well with it, and I have always been very pleased but going from a normal benefit to something that is a little more formal makes it feel like we made it,” Hersey added.

Tickets cost $50 a person.
