MONSON — myMonson will have its first Rock The Lawn event on June 17 from 2-10 p.m. at Veterans Fields, featuring six hours of live music from the Savage Brothers and Corey Rieman and The Dilemma Band, a 64-team cornhole tournament, photo booth, dunk tank, inflatables, yard games, local craft breweries, food trucks and standard beer vendors.
The vendors participating are the Beer Guy, Rustic Brewing Company, Iron Duke Brewing, Thee Taco Dude, Bird’s Nest Italian Street Food, Big T’s Jerky House and BBQ, Main Street Tavern and Vintage Ice Cream Emporium.
myMonson CEO and Chairman Aaron Carpenter said, “We wanted to go big. We wanted to do a huge event. We wanted to market it in a wide area and offer a lot of interesting activities so people could come and spend a day in Monson.”
Established in 2021, myMonson is a company that was formed to promote the local events and small business communities. It’s an online platform that has an events calendar on it, which is open to the public. You can put any event on there so everyone in the community gets to see what’s going on. myMonson has a business directory listing on their website. Local companies can list with them and market to their thousands of monthly site visitors. They will also help promote them through social media & their newsletter.
The proceeds from the event will be donated to support veterans, first responders and seniors. Carpenter would love to raise tens of thousands for donations. He told Reminder Publishing they don’t have a specific number in mind since this is their first year, but if they can get four to five thousand people on the field that day it will be a huge win for the organizations myMonson will donate to.
“We really want to bring people into Monson and out to enjoy the field,” said Carpenter. “The town has made such an investment down here. At the end of the day, if it’s a success, I think the most rewarding part will be to give back to the community that supported us, hopefully we can do that in a big way.”
Tickets are $12.95 per person online at myMonson.org/RTL. $15 at the gate, seniors 65 and up and children under 12 get in free. The first 100 online orders will get a $10 gift card emailed to them.
