Lemonade stand raises money for Alzheimer’s Association

Date: 5/4/2022

MONSON - Soon to be four-year old Dawsyn Gagnon, a Monson resident, raised $1,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association during her second annual lemonade stand. She chose this charity in honor of her great grandmother, “Grandma Chino.”

The $1,000 raised will be matched by her father’s company, Callaway Golf, to benefit the association as well.

Gagnon’s efforts began last summer, after she want to her mother, Jamie, and said, “‘Mommy, I want to help kids with boo-boos.” Once Gagnon’s parents built and beautified her lemonade stand, she was open for business. In 2021, she raised $1,000 for Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, which also received a 100 percent match from Callaway Golf.

Jamie said, “You don’t have to be big and mighty” to make a difference in this world. “It’s so much more than donations… it’s people’s lives. [Dawsyn]’s pouring love into every cup,” she added.

Gagnon’s family will also be partaking in the Bluefin Blowout 5K for Alzheimer’s this month, in which people have also been making donations to.
