Date: 5/2/2023

MONSON — TravelNitch will be hosting its Spring into Adventure: A Family Travel Fair on Saturday, June 10, at Silver Bell Farm from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festivities include an alpaca meet & greet, stuff-your-own travel pals, a raffle and tasty treats offered by the Silver Bell Farm food and ice cream truck.

For this event, TravelNitch is looking to partner with travel vendors who offer families with kids the opportunity to spend time together through day trips, rainy-day excursions, and family-friendly activities. They will have three categories of sponsors: table sponsors (organizations that will be on site June 10), raffle sponsors (organizations that have donated goods or services for their raffle fundraiser) and destination sponsors (organizations who can’t be there on June 10 can join in spirit. For only $25,

Travelnitch will gladly include their destination in their family-friendly scavenger hunt as travelers build their summer bucket list. As of today, they have the following commitments:

Table Sponsors include Capt‘n Cod’s Bear Cove, Springfield Museums, Storrowton Village Museum, Windy Crow Farm, and the Worcester Red Sox.

Raffle Sponsors include Let’s Roam, Old Sturbridge Village, Six Flags New England, Southwick’s Zoo, Storyland, Treetop Adventures, and Zoar Outdoors.

TravelNitch anticipates having at least a dozen table sponsors on-site but will also be providing information about many more in the form of a family scavenger hunt.

Founder and CEO Amanda Renna said, “This event really unites the whole travel community, which I find very exciting. As a parent, I am always looking for ways to entertain my kids when they’re on break from school, so this travel fair is filling a real gap in the market for families who love to road trip.”

TravelNitch, a nonprofit organization inspiring children through virtual and real-world travel; encouraging families to travel, learn and grow together through global exploration. Their mission is to inspire children through travel. They believe it’s a powerful tool for educating children and teaching them to be more independent, more adaptable and more open and accepting to people who are different, new places, and new experiences.

“I really wanted to create an environment where families could come out and see all of the wonderful opportunities that exist right in our own backyard,” Renna said. “When people think of travel, they automatically jump to luxury vacations or cruises, and it really isn’t about that for us. We’re more interested in those smaller opportunities for families to spend time exploring together. I want to help connect kids to all of those adventures right here in Western Mass.”

TravelNitch launched their World on Wheels program last year and hosted a similar event at Silver Bell Farm, which was their first time partnering with them. The event was a big success with over 100 families that attended. “We just loved working with Silver Bell Farm,” Renna explained. “They’re family-friendly and have a lot to offer on-site, so we wanted to find a way to work with them again.” When Renna was thinking about hosting a fundraiser this year, she really liked how their event went last year. Renna enjoyed the interaction with local families and the surroundings, so she decided to host it at Silver Bell Farm again, but with a few improvements. Going forward, Renna hopes that Spring into Adventure will become their signature fundraising event bringing together local businesses and families who love to travel.

“I’m excited that this event serves as a fundraising event while also supporting our mission,” Renna responded. “We’ll be providing free activities on-site that prompt families to think more about backyard travel, so they can keep the kids busy all summer long without breaking the bank.”
