SOUTH HADLEY – On June 30, dozens of cars lined up at the new South Hadley Senior Center on 45 Dayton St. to receive gift bags in honor of the grand reopening. Residents pre-registered weeks in advance. The South Hadley Coalition on Aging distributed gift bags with the help of South Hadley Police Chief Jennifer Gundersen and Fire Chief Todd Calkins of the South Hadley Fire District 2.
A virtual grand opening of the center took place on July 2 at 7 p.m. Those watching the live stream were invited to toast to the new building with sparking juice and cookies, which were included in the distributed gift bags.
