SOUTH HADLEY — The town of South Hadley is the latest community to welcome a Delaney’s Market into town as the retail store featuring chef-inspired, ready-made meals continues to grow in popularity thanks to its convenience and fresh and great tasting food.
The new store is located at 459 Granby Rd. and opened on May 25 with a ribbon cutting celebration with many members of the public in attendance. Owner Peter Rosskothen was excited to be a part of bringing the retail store into the South Hadley community, where he also resides.
Rosskothen was eager to talk about and show off the new location’s state-of-the-art kitchen set up that will help get meals out to other Delaney locations as well as meals for sale through Big Y. He added when asked of his goals for the retail markets, it has always been about producing quality food in a consistent manner.
“To me it’s always going to be to produce the highest quality of fresh-made replacement home meal possible. We make fresh, we want to make it every day, we want to make sure you enjoy it,” Rosskothen said. “We want to make sure it’s easy and simple in your house or in your office or wherever you choose to eat one of our meals.”
The featured chef-inspired ready-made meals are fresh and ready to serve with no real effort and assists busy individuals or families that want to eat a quality meal without the hassle of long prep and cooking times.
The South Hadley community was just as eager to check out the new space, as a crowd of about 30 people made their way out to celebrate the new location and tour its new kitchen space. The new 5,000-square-foot kitchen will now serve as the core of all Delaney’s food production.
“Proud is the first thing that comes to mind,” Rosskothen told Reminder Publishing about what it means to open this location in the same town he resides in. “I started with Boston Chicken [now known as Boston Market] many years ago so the home meal replacement thing has always kind of ingrained, so being able to have a kitchen that can do it right is very exciting. The sky is the potential right now.”
Town Administrator Lisa Wong noted she was excited to become one of the locations frequent new customers and expressed gratitude to Rosskothen and his team for making the investment in South Hadley.
Rep. Dan Carey was in attendance and expressed support the addition of the new store and was looking forward to picking up more often now with a location so convenient to where he lives. Carey extended best wishes and good fortune on behalf of the state for the new location.
“I’m thrilled to be here today to see this beautiful facility. I’m excited because I love food. My wife’s excited because now I can pick up dinner on the way home and she doesn’t have to cook,” Carey said.
This is the fourth Delaney’s Market store with the first one opening in 2016 in Longmeadow. Since, locations have also been established in Wilbraham and Westfield, which both opened in 2019.
“I am grateful for the support we have gotten over the years and excited to grow across Western Massachusetts,” Rosskothen said. “We live in a great place with great people.”
