SOUTH HADLEY — The South Hadley and Granby Chamber of Commerce presents Spring Fling 2023, a community event that will be on April 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the O’Brien Family Funeral Home Grounds located at 33 Lamb St., South Hadley.
Known previously as the Spring Eggstravaganza, the chamber rebranded the spring event into a more overall celebration of the season change while also still having elements of Easter to celebrate for families who do so.
Chamber President Regina Zebrowski said with the event coming after the Easter holiday, changing the name to the Spring Fling opened an easy avenue to annually celebrate the time of year every April. The gathering of two communities will continue the annual get-together to reign in the spring season.
“I think our purpose in this always is to connect our member businesses with the community and also our public safety departments and nonprofit organizations,” Zebrowski said.
Zebrowski said those who come out for the event can expect a day of fun activities and opportunities to become more familiar with the different business and organizations that help make the community what it is.
The Spring Fling is rain or shine and will feature local businesses with tents set up to educate about their business and also hand out different goodie bags. Different games and crafts will also be available to the community.
A special guest in the Easter Bunny will be appearing at the Spring Fling to celebrate and hang out with children and their families.
Zebrowksi said it’s the chambers intention to host a few of these sorts of events a year as it allows for residents to be educated about their community while also enjoying a specific time of year, something she hopes those who come out can appreciate yet again.
“They can expect a couple hours of local participation and getting to know your local businesses and community a little better with our police officers and Fire Department. Also educating them on the nonprofit community so we can all support,” Zebrowski said.
She also noted that Berkshire Hills Music Academy will be in attendance for a live performance during the event.
Zebrowski said she hopes the weather prevails as the April date was chosen in hopes for a good weather day to celebrate the spring season.
“We are very close knit in South Hadley and Granby, and we want to continue to hold these events. They’re always well received and well attended from the community, and we always get amazing participation again from the businesses that support it, so we’re definitely looking forward to this,” Zebrowski said. “Spring is in the air!”
