WARE – The Aspen Street Rod and Gun Club is hosting a fundraiser dinner for Tia and Theresa Messier on April 16.
David Fox, president of the non-profit club, said they decided to host this fundraiser for the Ware residents for a few reasons. A few months back, Theresa’s husband Stephen passed away. Stephen was a member of the Aspen Street Rod and Gun Club.
Shortly after his passing, the Messier’s only child, Tia, was diagnosed with leukemia.
“Theresa takes care of Tia’s two kids now,” said Fox. “Their finances have been struggling.”
To assist the Messier family during this difficult time, Fox, along with members of the club, decided to host this fundraiser in which all proceeds will go directly to the family. The doors will open at noon for raffle purchases. From 4 to 6 p.m., there will be a spaghetti and meatball dinner served. There is a $15 meal ticket cost for donation.
Fox encourages people to reserve a ticket online so they know how much food to order.
Tickets can be reserved online at https://www.facebook.com/Aspen-Street-Rod-And-Gun-Club-417978842113032/.
Fox said there is no limit to how many people may attend this event. With past fundraisers, Fox said they served up to 200 people and are hopeful for a similar turnout.
At 7 p.m., they will draw raffles. Fox has been putting together around 20 baskets to be raffled off. The baskets include boys and girls fishing packages, wine baskets and so on. In addition, Fox said they have a “wagon raffle” with more gifts to be won.
For those who can’t attend the fundraiser but are interested in supporting the Messier’s, contact Sandy Martin at 433-1065 or David Fox, 262-1437, to make a cash donation.
