Clowning for Kidz car show returns to Ware Sept. 10

Date: 9/5/2022

WARE – The Clowning for Kidz Foundation is back with their annual car show at the Ware High School on Sept. 10 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. This family-friendly event is free to spectators. The car show is open to all makes and models.

President/founder Jim Allard said, “We’ve been doing the car show for six past years. This is the first event we’re doing since the [coronavirus] pandemic. We’re hoping for a great turnout. We look forward to seeing everyone in person and outdoors.”

The Clowning for Kidz Foundation is a local volunteer organization; a non-profit charity raising funds to help children-in-need under the age of 16 through the art of clowning. They participate in parades and events across New England raising revenue that supports clowning workshops, programs, and opportunities for children in need, providing aid specific to their unique circumstances. This summer, they performed in parades in Freedom, NH and New Bedford.

“We started 12 years ago, “Allard stated. “We decided to open up a foundation and that is where we get our revenue from is through the art of clowning and what best thing to do is give back to children. Every child varies whatever needs they have. It could be a simple handshake to helping out with a medical need.”

He continued, “We try to do the best we can within our budget. Any donations that we get is certainly appreciated. We’re just a bunch of clowns trying to help out. We know there’s a need out there and what better way of doing it than throwing on a clown outfit, making yourself up as a clown and entertaining kids.”

There will be trophies for the top 30 vehicles. The cost to enter a car into the show is $15 per vehicle entered. In addition, food will be available at Maggie’s Dogs along with a DJ and a 50/50 raffle. The raffle will be drawn between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Participants do not need to be present to win. Winners will be called and must pick up their prize before 2 p.m.
