WEST SPRINGFIELD – The Rotary Club of West Springfield will be hosting its first virtual event with Table & Vine on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.
“Participants will be tasting and learning about three different wines from around the world with an optional selection of paired cheeses. All profits will benefit the local community as well as the global causes of Rotary International,” said rotarian and event planner Lisa Grenier.
The pricing for the wine alone per household is $89.99 and $109.99 with cheese included for the first 50 participants. You also have the option of joining without purchasing the wine or cheese for $25.
The Rotary is a global organization that does a lot of philanthropic work for the community. They encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. They currently have biweekly luncheons for members every other Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. via Zoom where anyone seeking membership is encouraged to attend. Although they are not sure when they will be holding an in-person event, Grenier mentioned they have brought in more members to the organization in the last year than they have a few years prior to the pandemic.
“I think part of it is people are feeling a little bit enclosed and want more of an opportunity to socialize, network, gain experience and be able to help in any way they can and so the rotary offers that support,” she said. “That’s what I like the most about being a Rotarian is that it’s not just for one cause and so anyone that joins that has different passions or interested in helping in different ways like health or veterans etc. we do a bunch of things and that’s what keeps people interested.”

On April 26, upon payment, participants will receive an email with a link for the Zoom invitation and instructions on picking up the wine and cheese at Table & Vine, beginning April 28 and until 6 p.m. on April 30.
