WILBRAHAM – Every year, Evangel Assembly of God, 348 Stony Hill Rd. in Wilbraham, puts on a Christmas musical to celebrate the season. Due to the pandemic, the performance will be a little different this year, but the church was determined to carry on their Christian theatrical tradition.
This year’s program is “Love Less Traveled,” an original musical based off of O’Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi.”
“It follows a poor couple, down on their luck, as they struggle to find each other the perfect gift for Christmas,” said Colin Tracy, creative arts director at the church.
Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, there will be limited seating for the church’s three live performances, Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. Tracy said that the Dec. 12 performance will be live streamed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/evangelassemblyma.
In addition to limited seating, Evangel Assembly of God will be following all state pandemic guidelines. Masks will be required during the performance and seating will be assigned.
Registration is required and can be completed at evangelassembly.churchcenter.com/people/forms/190795.
Any left over seats can be registered for at the door.
While admission is free, there will be a freewill offering to “support a local outreach effort,” Tracy said.
