Restorative Wellness Center welcomes community to open house

Date: 1/23/2019

HAMPDEN – On Dec. 12 the Restorative Wellness Center located at 2 Allen St. in Hampden, opened their doors. Since then the response from the community has been very positive with many new, satisfied clients.

Jes Petit, a Wilbraham resident, owns the Wellness Center. Petit is a maternal mental health councilor who has a passion and interest in natural healing methods. Petit and her husband often would seek out wellness centers and were always discouraged to find there were none at a convenient distance to access the treatments they wanted. After being frustrated with this for some time, Petit decided to fix the problem herself and open her own wellness center locally.

At The Restorative Wellness Center there are many different services offered for a wide range of clients. Along with owning the wellness center, Petit still does offer maternal mental health counseling.

Petit’s main focus at her wellness center is offering support to women who are struggling with infertility, prenatal, and/or postpartum mental health issues. She also has years of experience helping people with trauma and she is extensively trained in Trauma Focused Behavior Therapy. The wellness center also offers counseling for addiction and mood disorder in adults and adolescents.

Another service that is offered is a dietitian. The dietitian offers nutrition therapy and helps to coach clients on improving their unique health, fitness and diet-related goals and needs. The wellness center also has two Reiki Masters on staff who aim to restore balance in client’s bodies, minds and spirits.

There are two massage therapists on staff and also a hypnotherapist who helps clients by using hypnosis. The hypnotherapist also specializes in hypno-birthing to help women prepare for labor in a relaxed way.

“I’m so excited…myself and the social worker are already booked up and all of our other services are filling their openings too,” Petit commented.

The Restorative Wellness Center will host a grand opening on Feb. 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. At the grand opening there will be an assortment of free complementary services offered to anyone who attends. These services will be a 10 minute hypnotherapy session, a 10 to15 minute reiki session, a 15 minute chair massage and a posture assessment. Every room at the wellness center will also be offering free giveaways.

Petit has her own line of chemical free products and elderberry syrups called Mama LIFE Oils and Wellness that are sold at The Restorative Wellness Center.
