WILBRAHAM – The Board of Selectmen addressed issues concerning local businesses during the Dec. 12 meeting.
A hearing on the application for a six-day-a-week entertainment license was followed by a vote approving the permit. Via Appia Ristorante at 2133 Boston Rd. submitted the request to allow for live music indoors and the use of an amplification system between 6 and 10 p.m.
Also passed at the meeting, motions to require local alcohol and business license holders to bring their tax liability current by the end of 2022 or face immediate suspension in the new year.
An up to $50,000 design and feasibility study by the Economic Development Committee was approved after presentation to assess expansion and improvement of parking in the town center area of at Crane Park Drive and Burt lane off Main Street. Town Administrator Nick Breault said the funding is already in place for the study for parking on town land behind Crane Park.
Prior motions addressing salary and base wage increases for union and non-union town employees were approved with the raises retroactive to July 1 of 2022.
