WILBRAHAM – Wilbraham Friends of Recreation are oragnizing A Night in the Park on Sept. 23 to help support Wilbraham Parks.
From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. the Wilbraham Friends of Recreation invite patron’s to Spec Pond Pavilion in Post Office Park to enjoy dinner, music and a complimentary drink.
Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Director Bryan Litz said that this is the first Night in the Park as the previous fundraiser, Oktoberfest, was successful but began to decrease as the “novelty” wore off.
“This is the first Night in the Park, the last couple of years they have run an Oktoberfest and decided to change it up this year with the Mobile Food Truck and Paddy’s on board,” Litz said. “We will be having a DJ, along with some fun adult games like life-size Jenga and Corn Hole, all in all it should be a nice way to support the Friends of Recreation with an adult night out.”
Paddy’s Irish Pub and Murphy’s Mobile Food Truck will provide food and drinks. The menu will include corned beef Reuben’s, pulled pork, burgers, hot dogs, French fries and sweet potato fries. Post Office Park, the Daily Pint and Pro Shred Security are sponsoring the event.
Proceeds raised by A Night in the Park will go towards additional work around Amy’s Sparkle Park, along with further renovations at Pinney Pavilion, which are both located at the Spec Pond Recreational Complex, Litz said.
There is a limit of 200 tickets to be sold at $25 per person. To purchase tickets, see a F.O.R. member or purchase them at the Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 413-596-2816.
