Town of Warren announces election results

WARREN — The town election on May 2 included one contested race for selectman and two open seats with write-in candidate options only for moderator and housing authority, respectively.

A three-year term of moderator had four write-in candidates, with Dario Nardi elected to this position with 35 write-in votes. Other write-in candidates were David Delanksi with 17 votes, Vincent McCaughey with 8 votes and Steven Cristol with 5 votes. Other unreported write-in candidates totaled 14 votes.

The contested race for selectman for a term of three years was won by David Dufresne Sr., who was running for reelection, with 136 votes over Joseph Kondrat Jr.’s 102 votes. Marc Richard received 7 votes as a write-in candidate, and four other write-in votes were undisclosed.

A three-year term as park commissioner went to incumbent Lisa Boucher with 201 votes. A two-year park commissioner position went to Jessie Sweeney with 207 votes.

The position of assessor for a term of three years went to Bruce Martin, reelected with 193 votes. The two-year term position of assessor went to Paula Keefe with 190 votes, and the one-year position for assessor went to Karen Kelly-Gray with 188 votes.

Sewer commissioner for a term of three years went to Joan Lavigne, reelected with 185 votes.

A position on the Board of Health for a term of three years went to Donald Makowski, who was reelected with 185 votes.

A position on the Planning Board for a term of five years went to Richard Eichacker, who was reelected with 183 votes.

The position of Housing Authority for a term of five years went to write-in candidate Maryanne Potrzuski with a majority of 7 votes, over 10 other votes for undisclosed write-in candidates. A three-year term on the Housing Authority went to Robert O’Keefe with 206 votes.

Cemetery commissioner for a three-year team went to Steven Cristol, reelected with 197 votes. There were three undisclosed write-in candidates for this position.

Quaboag Regional District School Committee had four three-year positions open, with two positions each available Warren and West Brookfield. From Warren, Andrew Schwenker was reelected with 147 votes and Matthew Peloquin was reelected with 184 votes. From West Brookfield Philip Landine was elected with 159 votes, and there were four undisclosed write-in candidates for the second position.

Of a total of 3,707 registered voters, 265 ballots were cast, or 7% of the total registered voters, Only candidates, including write-in candidates, who met the five vote requirement, were listed in the final official town election results.
