Warren fire allows photographer to look through different lens

Date: 8/8/2022

WARREN – On the morning of May 10, the apartment of Stephanie Snow, a local photographer, engulfed in flames at the hands of a neighbor who did not smother a lit cigarette.

Losing her home, cat, photography equipment and more, the fire uprooted Snow and her boyfriend, Eric, to relocate from Warren to New Hampshire. With only a few items salvaged from the devastation, Snow made the decision to close her studio, SS Photography, in Palmer.

Although Snow said this journey has not been easy at all, she has not allowed it to diminish her true passion. “This is my fourth year doing photography full time,” she shared. Her interest in the art began in high school after taking a few classes.

She continued “I thank a lot [of my passion] to my boyfriend Eric. He saw I had a passion and kind of pushed me into it. He believed in me more than I believed in myself.”

In 2019, Snow opened SS Photography. With the studio, she said she was able to offer more, such as indoor boudoir shoots for women. Other offerings include weddings, families, maternity and newborn shoots, to name a few.

Since closing the studio, Snow shared that she is still able to offer everything she did before except boudoir. Before closing SS Photography in Palmer, Snow said she “went out with a bang.” For one month, she offered a boudoir promotion to which several people took advantage of.

“After the fire, I did a revamp of everything,” said Snow. For example, she extended her coverage area to all New England, whereas before she primarily served Massachusetts.

Right now, Snow said she is not looking to open another studio. Instead, she plans to build clientele and get her name out in New Hampshire.

During the summer and fall, Snow noted that a lot of her sessions take place outside. She added that September and October are typically her busiest months, due to the foliage.

“I get a lot of repeat clients,” said Snow. “[With my] clients, I create a bond with them and provide resources to help prepare for their shoot.”

She went on to say that she enjoys watching families grow up, as she photographs them throughout different stages in their lives.

A lot of Snow’s work is promoted on social media. She noted that she updates her pages often with events, promotions and more. To learn more SS Photography, visit the official website at https://stephaniesnphotography.mypixieset.com/.
