Warren ‘moving right along’ with economic development grant

Date: 7/11/2022

WARREN – James Ferrera, town administrator, provided an update on the Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant that the town will be receiving during the July 7 Board of Selectmen meeting.

According to the EDA, EDA grants work to “fulfill economic development strategies designed to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship, advance regional competitiveness, create higher-skill, living-wage jobs, generate private investment, and fortify and grow industry clusters.”

Ferrera said they are “moving right along with that” and “trying to get everything done for the back of the house,” such as setting up their Automated Clearing House (ACH) with the treasurer, along with establishing several accounts.

Once all the accounts are set up, Ferrera explained that they will be allowed to continue on in the process.

He added that this will open up doors in the future to receive additional fundings from the EDA.

The total amount for this EDA grant is $280,000.
