Date: 1/30/2013

Thanksgiving Day 2012, we were fortunate to have participated in the East Longmeadow Silent Auction on behalf of East Longmeadow Scholarship Foundation. I say fortunate because we became acutely aware of the generosity and commitment many of our businesses are have [been] to the families here in town. Many businesses overwhelmed me with their generous contributions.

The following businesses participated: Graziano Gardens, Tokyo Grill, Ninety-Nine, Pizza Makers, Ron Lavoie and Sons, A+E Salon, Memory Lane Lamp, Healthtrax, Broadalbin Christian Bookstore, Gilbert's Written Word, Elements Massage, Robert Charles Studio, Ski Haus, Boston Market, AW Brown, Frigo's, Shaker Bowl, Texas Road House, Merry Maids, Dr. Matuszuz, Basketball Hall of Fame, Sleepies, Falconsak, Arnold's, Firestone, Quilts and Treasures, Pizza Shoppe, Fat Trax, Coughlin's Place, Chili's, Heartsong Yoga, Beauty Times, Meadow's Driving School, Century Fitness, Christina from Elite Image, Big Y, Dog Shop, Dr. Smith Orthodontics, L. Matuszczak Design, Basketbull, Falcons Hockey Team, Panera Bread, Just B, Visual Changes, Peppa's Pizza, Doggie Works, Edible Arrangements, The Cruise Store, and Dr. Balisa Basile Optomotrist.

East Longmeadow Scholarship Foundation has provided over $600,000 in awards for college to deserving East Longmeadow High School students since 1961. This particular fundraising event raised approximately $1,800. And we are so grateful to each business that participated.

Thank you also The Reminder, who assisted us with publishing and advertising. This publication was crucial to our endeavors. And thank you to the people who purchased items at the silent auction. With all the tragic news we hear globally, it's nice to have an inspiring story to hear about occasionally. I hope to have more in the future!
