Food Drive helps center survive

The Community Survival Center would like to commend the incredible efforts of the Ludlow, Wilbraham and Indian Orchard letter carriers who participated in the 15th Letter Carriers Food Drive on May 12.

The food brought to the Center from these three communities totaled an astounding 26,565 pounds. This back breaking day of giving is vital to all food pantries. If it weren't for this annual food drive, we would all be faced with the necessity of spending thousands of dollars on food each month.

The Center distributes an average of 13,000 pounds of food to over 700 individuals each and every month. But none of this would be possible without the continuing generosity from the communities of Ludlow, Wilbraham and Indian Orchard.

The Center would like to express our appreciation to everyone who helped with the drive, the letter carriers, the many volunteers, the special group from Ludlow, Board members and the Survival Center staff. They gave the greatest donation of all, the gift of their time.

The Center would also like to thank the Ludlow Board of Selectmen for allowing us to again use the town hall parking lot as a designated drop off point for the Ludlow carriers. Together we can make a difference one life at a time.
