On May 19 in the Cafeteria of the East Longmeadow High School, an opportunity to meet the candidates for Town Council will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Due to the large number of candidates running for the seven slot Town Council (32), a meet and greet format will replace the traditional question and answer forum. The public can come and meet the candidates personally throughout the night.
This is a historical transition for the town of East Longmeadow. The Council on Aging and ELCAT are excited to present this platform for the public to meet their candidates before the election on June 7.
A standard template of questions that were solicited and submitted from public input were given to each candidate. These answer sheets will assist voters make an informed decision on who they will vote for in addition to meeting each candidate personally. Candidates were asked to bring copies on May 19.
Individual biographies have been recorded and can be seen on ELCAT until the elections.
