So you wish the mayor and the City Council would discuss the noise issue? They did several years ago. Then Councilor Dominic Sarno sponsored a noise ordinance, which passed. The people creating the problem are cultural fourth graders. They do not read. They do not go to museums. They blast their brains our 24 hours a day, 7 days per week posing another impediment to the city’s high achievers. And you want more discussion? You’re are happy there are no drug deals? Under that din you would not hear anything. Neither would listening equipment.
The only weakness in the ordinance are the people who are charged with enforcing it, some of whom are drawn from the culture of ignorance which is causing the problem. The productive part of the city pays for the “enforcement” which will no enforce. The perpetrators can drop out of school at the earliest opportunity and get public assistance. In short, you and others are taxed to pay for your own oppression. And your nuisance neighbor will attract others like himself. You will soon be out bred and outnumbered.
Massachusetts is wonderful. We can have repetitive problems for years, and it is no one’s fault. Everyone but enforcement notices the cars being shaken at stop lights, houses being shaken, but it is no one’s fault. The City Council does not notice it, but it is no one’s fault. The Commissioner of Police cannot notice it, but it is no one’s fault.
And the editor wants discussion.
