The problem will be, with reduced masking compliance is that two major variants that escape the triggering of the immune system are now starting to become widely distributed.
For those previously inoculated they will have some defense. Those not are the ones apt to avoid mask-wearing or wearing masks below the nose to breathe easier.
Now, people in those states travel by car to other states or ride airplanes. The virus travels this way. So, let’s say you are in a high-density restaurant population, people sitting six feet across, talking loudly expulsion breath or laughing, or enjoying a false sense of security and demasking in the bathroom stalls. The virus shall spread with its mutated forms.
In order for demasking to work two-thirds of the population would have to have had the injection and in time, that remaining one-third without injections would achieve herd immunity. This is far off though. Eighty-five percent protection leaves 15 percent of a chance of exposure. One may not show symptoms, carry the percolated virus in the nose, and give it to an unmasker when they the carrier is not sick or will not become sick.
Keep in mind, the N.I.H. and the C.D.C are totally against relaxing standards and opening up venues beyond 25 percent capacity. If we could all hang on one more half-year, this thing could be beaten, but now, people are cracking at the edge and governors want to open to generate tax revenue at the expense of lives.
And this thing is now set to burst wide open again. Travel, false security, high capacity restaurants open thus high human density with lax masking or none, will in three months, set us back severely. Governors should have mandated health departments to check each public venue for effective HEPA filtration and U.V. systems and they have not done this. Success at these measures should have been posted on each business door warning customers of compliance.
This is going to get much worse in a few months. Logic dictates this. There is not enough vaccine to meet demand thus no hope of herd immunity, and many walking abound without the benefit of injection visiting public venues with poor filtration and taking risk due to a sense of false security that some governors are promoting to generate revenue at the cost of lives.
More categories to allow folks to be vaccinated are being added by our governor when even in the first category half of those 75 have not been addressed, and many over 65 have not and thus opening up of categories will cause increase population demand for vaccine and further wait times for those in the first two categories needing this vaccine long over due.
The phone system 211 does not have enough operators nor phones and does not give solid results without complications. Many seniors have issues with computers or do not own them. No teams are being sent to smaller towns with elderly public housing to give vaccines. The directors of these senior housing projects have yet to send out fliers vaccines will be given on such and such a day and time making it easy to show an I.D. and fill out a paper and be vaccinated on the spot.
