Thank you

On behalf of the Survival Center staff, volunteers and families, I would like to thank the community for their generous response during the past holiday season by donating over 38,000 pounds of food since November. Thanks to the generosity of so many caring and concerned individuals we were able to distribute over 37,000 pounds of food to 1,151 families, 2,623 men, women and children in need of assistance during the past three months. This number represents a significant and steady increase in requests for assistance with unfortunately a corresponding decrease in donations.

I would like to tell you that the food shortage is over but it's not. We are surviving month to month as far as food supplies are concerned. During the holiday season we received enough food to handle the deficit, but now it's day to day, week to week, month to month until the Letter Carriers Annual Food Drive in May. At the present rate of requests we will run out of food by March.

For over 23 years the Center has been able to assist thousands of individuals with food, clothing or household items because of you, the community, and we are extremely grateful for your support; without your continued help our work will not be possible. Thank you for helping to change lives one person at a time.
