To all of our family, friends and neighbors

To our family, friends and neighbors.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the community for your concerning during this difficult time in our lives. Your overwhelming support has been the inspiration that continues to help us get through the days. Everything from visits to our homes and preparing meals, to the flowers and cards we continue to receive have been greatly appreciated. Even the simple words and pats on the back in passing have been a continued source of strength. We are truly living every parent's worst nightmare, but we continue to move forward with all of your help.

To all of those who attended the service we give you special thanks. The overwhelming amount of people who waited in line, some for hours, is a true testament to Brianna's life and the number of people she has touched. Your being there with us turned the mourning of her death into a celebration of her life.

We would like to commend all of Brianna's classmates who turned out for the candlelight vigil, the services and who have stopped by our homes. Your maturity in dealing with this tragedy is not only a reflection of the kind of people your families have raised, but also a reflection of the love you have for Brianna. The letters and memory notes you did are truly incredible. Reading them has not only allowed us to smile and laugh, but has also shown us a part of our daughter we did not even know about. To Cory and Gary, we thank you for a most special gift. The song you wrote truly captured the spirit of Brianna's life. We will never forget you.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of you who have made, and continue to make contributions in Brianna's name. The volume of donations has been truly overwhelming and will allow us to focus our energy on making something good come from this tragedy. The Brianna C. Donovan Foundation has been established to administer future scholarships as well as aid in a number of upcoming awareness campaigns. These campaigns will be aimed towards younger drivers in an attempt to show them the importance of seatbelt use. Additionally, we will be focusing our efforts on effecting legislative changes that will require seatbelt use by junior operators.
