I have immense respect for all of East Longmeadow’s community leaders. It’s an often-thankless job and these folks give generous amounts of their time providing an essential service to our community. The town could not function without their service, and I truly appreciate what they do. That said, East Longmeadow needs forward thinking leadership to set the town up for long-term success.
The EL Resilient Master Plan released in June 2021 went a long way in clearly stating our goals and priorities as a community, and we need younger people in town government with the energy to implement those ideas. East Longmeadow needs to bring new business into town, whether it’s filling empty storefronts on Shaker Road or incentivizing manufacturers to invest in the Industrial Park.
Additionally, affordable housing needs to be created for both families seeking to move in and older residents with desires to downsize. My write-in campaign for the two-year vacancy on East Longmeadow’s Town Council is vital so that young people in our community feel represented. As a community we should be encouraging participation across all age groups. A variety of diverse perspectives in municipal government will allow us to build a community that is inclusive of residents from all backgrounds.
On June 7, write-in “Matthew Boucher 138 Pease Rd.” for the two-year Town Council term to fill a vacancy – and don’t forget to fill out the circle! Thank you!
