Editor’s note: Executive Editor Payton North asked readers to submit letters to the editor with what they are thankful for this year.
I’ve just returned from a procedure with the urologist in Phoenix to remove a stent and some very large kidney stones attached to the stent. A procedure I had been avoiding for years due to fears the doctor might mess something up.
I am happy to report that I may pee freely now! I may choose when and where to pee! What a concept … I no longer have to fear holding it on long trips or the embarrassment of accidentally peeing myself in public or people seeing, or worse … smelling a pee stain!
Sleeping an entire night without peeing? Yes, it’s possible again. And the pain, a pain so extreme that I’ve heard it compared to the pain of giving birth. Now imagine the fear you develop of the toilet after giving birth to a few pees! What a nightmare the pee had become. Finally the pee nightmare has come to an end!
That is what I am thankful for.
