A diamond is a chunk of coal that made good under pressure.



The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention!



One reason the dog has so many friends: he wags his tail instead of his tongue.



What a big difference there is between giving advice and lending a hand!



Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses.



People with tact have less to retract.



As I grow older, I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do.



A pint of example is worth a barrelful of advice.



It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.
