#11 Ryan Flinn

Ryan Flinn is in his first season with the Springfield Falcons after spending the 2006-07 campaign with the San Antonio Rampage. Flinn also played five seasons with the Manchester Monarchs while a member of the Los Angeles Kings organization.

Question: You returned to the lineup on November 3 after missing 11 games with an injury, what was that like for you?

Flinn: Well, it was frustrating to get injured so early in camp, but I am happy to be back. You work hard all summer to get ready for the year and to get injured on my first day of camp was frustrating, but I worked hard to stay in shape and everything worked out in the end. You just want to go out and play your game, play well defensively and stick up for my teammates.

Question: Is sticking up for your teammates a big part of your game?

Flinn: Absolutely, you always want to stand up for your teammates and make sure they know that I have their backs on the ice. I also pride myself to play well defensively, make the simple play and chip in with some offense at times.

Question: You were a teammate of Kelly Buchberger's in L.A., now he is your coach, how has that been for you?

Flinn: It's kind of funny when you say it like that. It's was brief in L.A. when we were teammates, I was a rookie and was only up there for 10 games. Kelly was good to me and showed me how to be a pro. He's a hard-worker and he showed the young guys what it takes to play in the NHL.

Question: From an attendance standpoint, how nice has it been to see over 6,000 fans in the stands for your game at the MassMutual Center back on November 16?

Flinn: It's always nice to see a big crowd, as players it gives you that extra shot of adrenaline and it was nice to see. Hopefully we can keep up the good play and make sure fans keep coming down to watch us play.

Question: When you go up against a team you used to play for, what is that like as a player?

Flinn: It's a different feeling, I recently played Manchester and I played in Manchester for five years, so it's a different feeling. I made a lot of friends in Manchester, they were five good years, but I'm in Springfield now and that's where my focus is moving forward.
