#36 Mathieu Roy

Question - We are joined by Mathieu Roy, defenseman of the Springfield Falcons. He picked up an assist last night in the Falcons 4-2 win against Philadelphia. Your first game back after missing four. How did it feel out there Matty?

Answer - It felt pretty good. It was good to get back on the ice with the boys and it was even better the way we started the game and the way we played that whole game. It was unbelievable to be back on the ice.

Question - Yeah, the guys seemed to have that extra jump last night. What do you tribute that to?

Answer - I don't really know. Sometimes it is just a matter of emotion or just thinking twice and doing the small, little things and details to bring the win home and that's what we did last night. We played with our heart and we put everything on the line.

Question - To start the year, you had kind of a rough go, some immigration issues. Do you find that perhaps last night's game was kind of a cleaning of the slate and a chance to finish the year up strong?

Answer - Hopefully it is. I mean I had my bad luck for the first part of the season, so far. So hopefully the rest of the year will be good for me and I'll be able to play in lots of hockey games.

Question - When you take a look at your season to this stage, you have appeared in 19 games with Springfield. Two goals, seven assists for nine points total. 34 penalty minutes and you also played in four games in Edmonton. What do you think of your year?

Answer - It's not so bad. It could be worse, like out for the whole season. I mean, I have been injured. But it has been like that for the past few years for me. It's been rough. Hopefully it's going to be over pretty soon, so I can play hockey and stay in the line up for more than a few games in a row.

Question -Last night, general manager of the Edmonton Oilers, Kevin Lowe was in attendance. He is in attendance again tonight. Do you think that gives the guys a little extra energy?

Answer - Well maybe it does. I mean, it's always good to have the GM of the big club here to watch us play but it should not be an absolute reason to perform on the ice. We should be the same way every night. If he is here or not, we should play the same way. We will have to find a way to do that if he is here or not.

Question - Falcons are on a mini two game winning streak. What is it going to take to win three straight?

Answer - Well the same thing. We will have to start the game really strong and play in our system and play composed. Make the plays when they are there and when they are not, just keep the tempo and play hard.
