The sting of our first home loss against Providence still hurts, but we are looking forward to Albany, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hershey, and Hartford this week. The men have worked extremely hard on their game and are looking forward to some American Hockey League action. (Oh, important point, the coaching staff would like to thank the players for winning an incentive segment and getting a great meal from the organization.) My personal favorite, the Springfield Sliders Sled Hockey team, were very motivated last night at Amelia Park Ice Arena. My "push" partner Colleen was not there so I jumped into a sled and got my workout in, IN GOAL. (a "push" partner is someone who assists the player in the sled as they are unable to push themselves). Just as I thought my game was really coming together with big saves on Slider Players Alex and Erica, Corey scored over my left ear and my eyes were really opened up. Stephen and especially Amber were red hot on defense with Nico doing his usual fine job. Gage, in goal at the other end, worked hard thwarting some of our offensive power. Bryce, Meagan, Erica, Erin and Cody all performed admirably. We all look forward to Tuesday night and instruction from coaches Caryn and Erin. Assistant Coach Darren Rumble's coaching tip for the week is "Never do the bag skate with the conditioning ride on the same day". (TRANSLATION: the players had an extremely hard practice yesterday.) Please keep this in mind future coaches. I still haven't received any pictures of Doug O'Brien and Mitch Fritz in their modeling debut but we haven't given up hope. Matter of fact I haven't gotten any questions either. Here's my deal, send me a good honest question and I will personally give you my tickets for an upcoming game. First come, first serve. As stated before, November opens up with 3 games on the road before coming home on Sunday afternoon 6th against rival Hartford. I am still looking for questions from my readers, so drop a line with your requests. And come on down and see the Falcons. |
