Falcons play hard

So close yet so far away! The pesky Falcons play hard and better and have a chance to win all three games on the weekend, but come up a little short.

A hard fought game in Providence sets the tone for the three in three. Karri Ramo is very good in goal and gives his team a chance to be there in the end. Costly mental errors in the defensive zone and inability to "cash in" on quality scoring chances haunt the Falcons in this one as they lose 3-2 against a feisty P- Bruin team.

Another barn burner on Saturday at the Nest versus Worcester. This one is tight from start to finish but Springfield comes up one goal shy again and drops a hard fought 2-1 game to the Sharks. Jonathon Boutin returns from a mild concussion that kept him out of the lineup for two weeks and picks up where he left off with a game well played.

The Lowell Devils complete the weekend at the Nest on Sunday. This turns out to be a well played game by both teams and a nail-biter through sixty minutes with the score still knotted at 2. Lowell scores early in the overtime on the 4 on 4 to take the extra point. Ramo is very good in goal (again) and does his part to help his team. The scoring drought continues!

The boys are looking forward to the launch of the Falcons sundae, "UT-O-EGGY-O' on Tuesday, February 27th at the Sumner Ave., Springfield Friendly's location. You will be seeing Mike Egener's pic, creator of "UT-O-EGGY-O" sundae, in your local Friendly's for the next couple of months. Can't wait to hear your feedback on the sundae. See you there!.Until next week, Coach Stirling
