Off the Ice Fund Raising Programs

The Falcons have a very busy plate ahead in Nov. and we kicked it off right by taking 2 out of 3 games on the first weekend. We took on Portland (11/10), and Manchester (11/11) at home and Portland (11/12) again on the road this past weekend. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday we welcome Hershey (11/15), Toronto for the first time (11/17), and Portland (11/22) to the NEST with a visit to Rochester (11/18) for good measure.

As the holidays approach, this is what we have planned for the players off the ice this season. Carole Appleton, Manager of Community Relations, has been laying the groundwork for our programs and the players are excited about getting out and meeting their fans. Special thanks to Pete Bell and his staff at Friendly's for their hospitality the other day, when we were at the Friendly's corporate plant in Wilbraham, enjoying a tour and "hot off the line" ice cream. Congratulations to Mike Egener who's UT-O-EGGY-O Sundae was selected the Falcons Sundae it will be available in Friendly's restaurants, early 2007. Here are some of the programs, we have planned:

Canned Food Drive #10 Dan Cavanaugh & his Falcons teammates are encouraging all fans to bring non-perishable food items to the Falcons game on 11/10, 11/11, 11/15, & 11/17 and they will receive a Buy One, Get One FREE coupon for the Wed., 11/22 game v. Portland.

Falcons Charity Candle The Falcons have teamed up with Pilgrim Candle in Westfield and South Hadley to produce the "Icing-Blue Line Candle" that smells like an AWESOME Butter Cream cookie A portion of the proceeds from the candle will benefit Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc.

Falcons Family Program The Falcons are selling Falcons Family wristbands with the proceeds purchasing tickets to send underprivileged kids to the Falcons game. Members of the Family will also be assisting area charities by collecting wish list items over the course of the season.

Pink Ribbon Power Play is a program where fans pledge money each time the Falcons or a Falcons player scores on the power play. Proceeds will be donated to the Rays of Hope and Cancer House of Hope.

Our wives and girlfriends are joining the cause by working on the Canned Food Drive and auctioning off personalized holiday ornaments by your favorite players after Thanksgiving. We would love the fans and area charities to be a part of what we are doing, so please contact Carole at 413-739-3344 x.112 or cappleton@falconsahl.com - 'Til next week! Coach Stirling
