American Outlaws plan viewing parties for U.S. World Cup matches

Date: 5/22/2014

CHICOPEE – When the United States Men’s National Soccer team takes the field in Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the most dedicated fans in Western Massachusetts will be watching on the big screens at Rumbleseat Bar and Grille. For every U.S. match, the Western Massachusetts chapter of the American Outlaws (AO) will host watch parties that are open to the public.

“We had fantastic attendance for the matches four years ago,” Jason Williams, chapter president, said. “We want to see even bigger crowds this year. Although we’d all love to be in Brazil, the next best thing will be to watch all the action at the Rumbleseat with AO Western Massachusetts.”

On June 16 at 6 p.m., the United States will play its first of three matches against the other members of Group G, facing Ghana in Natal, Brazil. On June 22 at 6 p.m., the United States will face Portugal in Manaus, Brazil and finish group play against Germany on June 26 at noon.

The first match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup will feature host country Brazil against Croatia on June 12. The final match, which drew a televised audience of 700 million in 2010, will be played on July 13.

The Rumbleseat Bar and Grille is located at 482 Springfield Street in Chicopee. During the matches, there will be food and drink specials and giveaways for fans in attendance. Membership in the AO is not required to attend; all supporters of the U.S. are encouraged to come cheer their team to victory. AO membership costs $25 annually and includes an official AO Supporters T-Shirt, “U.S. soccer flag” bandana, discounts and more. More information is available at www.facebook.com/AOwesternmass.
