Gervais selected Senior Female Athlete of 2014

WESTFIELD – Westfield State University (WSU) Track and Field standout Targie Gervais of Springfield has been selected the school’s Senior Female Athlete of the Year for the 2013-14 academic year.

Gervais was a record-setting sprinter and two-time All-American for the WSU women’s track and field team. She qualified three times for the NCAA Division III national finals, including an All-America second place finish at the 2013 indoor championships.

She earned All-New England honor nine times and was a two-time New England champion. She also earned three All-ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) certificates, including one ECAC crown. In total, she was an 18-time champion while competing for WSU; she finished first nine times in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference championship meets and six times in the New England Alliance championships. She established five school records in the following sprinting events: 55 meters, 60 meters, 100 meters, 200 meters, and 200 meters indoors.
