Date: 8/28/2014

CHICOPEE – Elms College Athletic Director Ellen McEwen recently announced the hiring of Jennifer Ouellette as the new head women’s field hockey coach.

Ouellette is taking over the Elms field hockey program after a prestigious playing and coaching career, including stops at Becker College and Rivier College.

“I’m honored to have been selected as the next Elms College field hockey coach. I want to thank Ellen McEwen for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to leading the team and helping them accomplish their goals,” she said.

Ouellette brings extensive Division III experience to Elms College and will look to continue building the program. She is looking forward to building on the success of the last couple years and advancing to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship.

Elms College returns a senior laden team that has 19 members recognized on several NECC all conference teams and SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad.

During her time at Becker College and Rivier College Jennifer enjoyed tremendous success, both as athlete and coach. She has won two NECC championships, been a member of the SAAC committee, and a four year member Becker Lacrosse team.

“We are very pleased that Jen Ouellette has joined the Elms family as our new Field hockey coach,” McEwen said. “We are looking forward to her continuing the success of the program this year and in years to come.”
