| WEST SPRINGFIELD Imagine playing a round at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California or Troon North Golf Club in Arizona without having to travel farther than West Springfield, Mass. A new wave of simulated, interactive technology allowing golfers to play a round rain or shine at the finest courses in North American has made its way to Western Massachusetts at Tee 2 Green on Memorial Avenue. The simulators allow golfers to use their own clubs in this simulated world of High Definition (H-D) 3-D technology that measures swing analysis, swing path, club face angle, club head speed and spin rate on the ball. "It's a wonderful teaching tool and is 100 percent accurate," Tom McElligott, co-owner of Tee 2 Green, said. The cost of each simulator is $50 per hour. Therefore, a group of four, playing a round at one of the simulated courses only costs $12.50 per person, per hour. "It's exactly like you are really playing golf," McElligott said, noting that no matter the weather conditions or packed greens his courses will always be open for customers. McElligott said those wishing to practice in the simulators can compete in the bi-weekly Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin competitions. Prizes will be awarded every two weeks, he added. Professional golf lessons from two of the facility's golf pros are also available. The facility also boasts a nine-hole indoor mini golf course. McElligott said the course is naturally landscaped, fully equipped with all the challenges golfers would come to expect such as natural rock water falls, streams, ponds and sand traps. Tee 2 Green also features lounge areas, concessions, birthday party packages, a conference room for corporate events and gift certificates. "We want to provide fun recreation and entertainment for the public," McElligott said of why he chose to open this business with his brother.
