Friends to host Walks in Park

AGAWAM - The Friends of Robinson State Park will be hosting informational walks in Robinson State Park on Tuesdays, starting July 25 at 6:15 p.m.

The purpose of these walks said the Friends is to educate the interested public about protecting the second growth trees of this 852 acre park, and to discuss how the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' proposed timber sale of the 133 acres of soft and hard woods within the park will affect the overall health of this beautiful forest.

The Friends asks that interested parties meet at the main entrance to the park on North Street. They ask that you please bring water and wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the 60 to 90 minute hikes. Trails are easy to moderate.

Large groups (over 15 individuals, i.e., Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.) are asked to please call (413) 789-1744 to arrange private tours.
