Reminder Assistant Editor AGAWAM A far cry from the Electric Slide, Soulja Boy's eccentric and provocative "Superman" flew through the nation's dance floors last year. His popular music video, "Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)," which featured the signature hip-hop dance had tweens, teens and parents diligently studying each move in preparation for their moments on the dance floor. Fans will get the opportunity to learn the "Superman" from Soulja Boy himself when he headlines Six Flags New England's Spring Break Concert on April 19. Soulja Boy will be bringing his "21 and Under Tour," to the theme park's stage along with Lil Mama, Tiffany Evans, V.I.C. and Tynisha Keli. "He's got great appeal," Melissa Pinkerton, public relations manager of Six Flags New England, said of Soulja Boy's ability to bridge generational gaps with the "Superman" dance. "It's going to be a great way to kick off [the season beginning April 12] with this amazing concert." In addition to the "21 and Under Tour" Six Flags will feature a variety of concerts throughout the season, including the Starburst Thursday Night Concert Series from June 26 Aug. 14. Raven-Symon , singer and star of the hit Disney television series "That's So Raven," will perform on July 24. Each concert will be free upon the park goers' entry into the park either with a season ticket pass or daily entry fee. Another concert series, "Live and Local," which is new to this year's season, will feature a variety of local musicians eager to entertain park goers. "We're always trying to do something new and exciting," Pinkerton said. "It's an opportunity for bands to come out and share their talent." Park President Larry Litton explained that many new additions to the park will also debut this season, including "The Dark Knight" indoor roller coaster, an additional Cold Stone Creamery, a Johnny Rockets Restaurant and a new show in the Rockville Theater. Pinkerton explained that the pre-taped Rockville Theater show, hosted by MTV VJ LaLa, will pay tribute and show segments of the greatest moments in American Music Award's history. Litton said the new attractions and amenities this season are congruent with the park's mission to provide family friendly entertainment. "We've already got the hardware: the super and mega coasters but the company's long-term goal is to make it [Six Flags] a family entertainment destination," Litton said. He added that successful additions such as Wiggles World have opened a new venture for Six Flags to reach the family demographic. Another family friendly ride, "The Dark Knight" will provide thrills and chills for park goers too young or intimidated by the "Superman: Ride of Steel." Litton explained that although building of the ride has stopped by the town's building inspector the park was building the ride without a building permit in order to meet the opening deadline of Memorial Day weekend the ride will open this season. "We're making every effort to get back to building the ride and to work with the town of Agawam to get it open as soon as we possibly can," he said.
