Arbor Day at Bowie Memorial

Date: 6/11/2019

CHICOPEE – Mayor Richard J. Kos spoke to the students of the Bowie Memorial Elementary School on June 5 as part of an Arbor Day celebration at the school. Four trees – maple and oak– were planted next to the school in the “Field of Dreams.”

There have been more than 800 trees planted on the city tree belt and private property in the past year and more than 1,000 planted since 2015.

Chicopee received its 26th consecutive year as a Tree City USA. The Tree City USA award is given annually by the National Arbor Day Foundation to communities that work to promote tree care and planting.
