CHICOPEE — City leaders and members of the community recognized St. Joseph’s Day with a flag raising ceremony on March 20 outside City Hall. St. Joseph is a significant figure in the Polish community, with many celebrating his contributions on the annual St. Joseph’s Day on March 19. Mayor John Vieau, state Rep. Shirley Arriaga (D-Chicopee) and state Sen. Jacob Oliveira (D-Ludlow) offered remarks on the importance of celebrating heritage and diversity in the city of Chicopee. Members of the City Council and City Clerk Keith Rattell were also in attendance.
