CHICOPEE – On April 26, the 4th Annual Beer & Wine Extravaganza is being presented to benefit Harmony House of Western Massachusetts. The night includes beer and wine tastings, a wine pull, food provided by local restaurants, music by Jesse Paulo of DJ New Image, artisan booths, vendors and raffles.
The Extravaganza, sponsored by Alden Credit Union, is a major fundraiser for Harmony House, an organization that provides end-of-life care for those without a support system. Its mission statement describes it as “a home, providing shelter with compassionate care for terminally ill individuals.” Individuals who stay at Harmony House are in a hospice program with a life expectancy of three months or less.
As a non-profit, Harmony House relies on grants, donations, and fundraising, and is staffed by paid caregivers and trained volunteers. The organization does not qualify for state or federal funds because it is not a medical facility.
The fundraiser will help support Harmony House in its goal to move to a larger facility later this year.
“The Chicopee Falls Moose Lodge is excited to host this event for Harmony House. We are a community-driven organization and proud to be a part of this event and many others like it,” said Richard Maxwell, the administrator of the Moose Family Center.
“I am very appreciative to all of the sponsors, vendors, and others involved who contribute and who work so hard for this evening,” Adam Corcoran, president and CEO of Alden Credit Union, said in a press release.
The event will be from 6 . to 9 p.m. at the Moose Family Center in Chicopee. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, available at all Alden Credit Union locations, by calling Jennifer Faustino at 654-0821, or at harmonyhousewma.org.
