CHICOPEE – Dielectrics, a firm founded in Chicopee in 1954 that designs, develops and manufactures medical devices using thermoplastic materials, was the recipient of a $175,000 Workforce Training Grant, which was announced last week by Lt. Governor Karyn Polito.
CEO Steve Cardin said the grant will both prepare the company to grow in the future and will allow the company, which had sales of $43 million in 2017, to remain competitive.
With the grant 20 new jobs are expected to be created within one year, Cardin said.
Polito noted, “Innovation grows because of talent.” She explained the Baker-Polito Administration’s emphasis on education is to prepare Commonwealth citizens with the tools they need for a changing economy.
“There is a really great success story about this program [Workforce Training Grants] and the jobs it has created,” she added.
