Eighth-grader Jacob Semaan’s subject was sports injuries. He explained the subject interested him because he has attended or watched many sporting events and always wondered what the recovery process was like for an injured athlete.
Sage Paerson, also an eighth-grader, chose the Beatles and the band’s music. “I like older music. It has more meaning than the rap music that is popular these days,” she explained.
The Salem Witch Trials was the subject for eighth-grader Elsa Ademi who said the event was discussed very much in her history classes but she thought it was very interesting.
Kyler Viafara, a seventh grader, chose the history of cars and focused on the first gasoline-powered European car. What impressed him, he said, was compiling the top speed of cars over the years.
Hayden Courchesne, a sixth grader, had a display on the evolution of the horror film. He listed various genres he had found including monster and slasher films. His favorite? The “Friday the 13th” series.
