Ribbon Cutting

Date: 11/20/2019

CHICOPEE – Valley Educational Associates has completed the expansion renovations in the Chicopee program facility on Meadow Drive. The newly expanded section is designed to meet the needs of the growing population of adults with developmental disabilities.

Construction broke ground in June of this year and was financed by the nonprofit’s Board of Directors. The new space added 2,200 square feet to the existing 2,300 square feet. The space was subdivided into three large learning rooms, a quiet room, and sensorial room for individuals with Autism. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Nov.14 with Mayor Richard Kos and the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce.

“It was really wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate this large success for Valley Educational Associates.” said Kate DaSilva, executive director.  “This expansion has been in the works for the past year and a half, from planning to blueprints, to the finishings. Our staff are proud to present our newly expanded facility as a viable option for those individuals seeking a home program to attend that offers community-based day programs, vocational and supported-employment programs.
