Spooktacular

Date: 11/3/2021

CHICOPEE - The ghoulish frights and trick or treat thrill of Halloween were ever-present during Chicopee’s annual Spooktacular on Oct. 28 at Szot Park. Due to the pandemic, last year’s Spooktacular was canceled, making this Mayor John Vieau’s first year running the traditional event.

The annual party hosted a gamut of Chicopee organizations, with Chicopee Police, United Way, the Boys and Girls Club of Chicopee, Tufts Health Plan, Westfield Bank and Chicopee Public Library among the represented groups. Each was lined up across the Szot Park walkway, dispensing buckets of candy to costumed trick or treaters.

City Council and School Committee officials were also in attendance as volunteers serving food to patrons. The city also welcomed the Behavioral Health Network to offer vaccinations and booster shots for those interested. A spooky-effects screen done by ChicopeeTV and a DJ were among the post-trick or treat festivities for citizens to enjoy.
